Jonas ”Mr R&B” Bernholm is the man who, for a couple of decades, starting in the mid-1970s, put
Rhythm & Blues of the late 1940s and 1950s back on the map. He re-issued many of the best recordings,
with the greatest African-American R&B-artists, on 190 LPs. Thanks to Jonas Bernholm and his talent
scouts and assistants, many top Rhythm & Blues artists were rediscovered and given a second chance;
Like Roy, Charles and Ruth Brown, Rosco Gordon and Nappy Brown while others were given a tribute
after outstanding careers like Amos Milburn, Billy Wright, Jack McVea and Joe and Jimmy Liggins etc.
This is the story of Jonas Bernholm and his record companies.
